Though some of the critiques of this book are legitimate, its importance is hard to over state.
De Lubac does not hesitate to express clearly what he thinks of the theologians around him, of the new concepts appearing because of the Council, or surnature the problems he judges to be most serious for the Christian faith. Several weeks ago I was inspired to read it, and I am very glad to have done so, although at some points I had to really force myself through it.
